During my site visits, I presented two H&Ps that ranged from patients that came in for a variety of reasons. The site evaluator, Professor Maida, was very helpful and interested in the cases and gave useful advice on thinking critically about all the patients.
The evaluations in general were very helpful as it helped me better understand how to think about the patient’s presenting symptoms and signs as well as the history that the parents provide me with. Professor Maida was also great at helping test my current knowledge on diseases diagnosis and treatments. He was also great in helping us test our knowledge on the drugs utilized for our patients. I believe he also improved our knowledge of drugs by adding some of his personal experience. I believe that the final site evaluation was very informative as well. Overall, I found the evaluations to be very educational and helpful as a developing student.
