The article that I chose was based on the clinical case I presented to my preceptor. This article was specifically chosen because my patient had recently just been administered and placed on a Invega therapy to help him manage his psychosis. The article details a 25 week long study that was conducted internationally including 667 patients from different demographical background. In this open label study, the patients were either starting or being maintained on Invega therapy. The results of this study showed that Invega injections helped treat psychosis, depression, and mania in many of these patients. Additionally, the study also observed the safety profile and found that Invega has approximately 67% of patients who were afflicted with at least one side effect. Based on this study it is found that the Invega is good long term therapy to use for patients with poor compliance.
