LTC – Site evaluation summary

During my site visits, I presented three H&Ps that ranged from patients that came in for chest pain to a patient that came in for a intertrochanteric femur fracture to a patient that had seizures due to their hyperglycemic state. The site evaluator, Dr. Davidson, was very knowledgeable about long term care and gave very useful instructions on how to make our H&Ps and presentations stronger. The site evaluation was very helpful as it sparked very interesting conversations about the different cases that we discussed during that time. One such advice that I appreciated was about always asking the patient about their prior ambulation status and to include it in my HPI. Even during our presentation of the pharm cards, I was able to learn more about the drugs from my pharm cards from what Dr. Davidson knew from personal experience. I believe that both the mid site evaluation and the final site evaluation were very informative and I was better prepared during the final site evaluation.
